We moved a camera from the south side path which was having a good deal of trouble with the sun shining in it’s eye to the middle of the forest road. It caught some good stills for us. The cougar and the bear in particular.
Winter was rather extreme this year. There was a lot of snow in February. We saw a lot of the coyotes. There seem to be three traveling together. Winter Later in the spring we see the first of the bear and more of the coyotes and raccoons. Early Spring
There are the usual things in the woods. The coyote has been seen on both cameras (video and still) and the bear is still around. Also the first pictures of Bucky. He’s got a nice thing going on with his antlers this year. And what will probably be the last mowing of the year for […]
We got a new sighting on the cameras. The owl. He’s a big guy and we hear him almost every night. He’s also taken a chicken or two. (harumph) The usual crowd was also around. Coyote, bobcat, deer, and a bunny. No sign of the bears in the middle of the winter.
The month started with some really lovely summer weather. The deer are appearing; some looking better than others. There’s still one speckled fawn — but there isn’t a decent picture of him/her. The coyotes are still around. Nothing of them on the driveway this month. But they made the other two cameras. Only one bear sighting. I’m […]
The first real month of spring — as evidenced by the visitor in our first picture. The robins are back and hopping around the pasture looking for worms. This fellow was looking to land on the fence post that the camera is mounted on. And they coyotes are showing themselves regularly both at night and during the day. The […]
Only a few pictures this month. Of note, the bear that should be asleep this time of year was up and moving around the property at the beginning of the month. The bob cat also visited. We have him (her?) going up and down the drive way on Oct 31st and then in the septic field on […]
It’s been a while since I’ve posted any of the game camera pictures. Even when we are ignoring them they sit in the woods and on the driveway and quietly go about their business. Mostly we get shots of deer. A few of which have identifiable traits. There’s Torn Ear. and one that I call Short Neck. […]
We moved the game cameras to new locations two weekends ago. This one we thought was a sleeping area. But a couple of weeks of observation reveals nothing. The other camera was placed at the south end of the septic field. An open area surrounded by forest and home to at least one bunny colony. Which explains […]
