We moved a camera from the south side path which was having a good deal of trouble with the sun shining in it’s eye to the middle of the forest road. It caught some good stills for us. The cougar and the bear in particular.
We saw a lot of the bobcat this month. Five separate appearances. The bear is definitely back in the woods. Also we did battle with the constantly growing greenery.
We’ve switched one of our cameras to record video. We’re experimenting with the length of recording. Trying to figure out what’s the best compromise between capturing the action and saving on the battery life. It’s looking like 15 seconds might be the sweet spot. We got a new sighting on the cameras. The owl. He’s a big guy and we hear him almost every night. He’s also taken a chicken or two. (harumph) The usual crowd was also around. Coyote, bobcat, deer, and a bunny. No sign of the bears in the middle of the winter.
